12 Year Ago- DT Reveal for 13 Arts.

We recently celebrated my son’s 12th Birthday. I wanted to make a layout with this really cute photo to commemorate the occasion. I wanted the layout to have some boyish elements along with my usual style flowery style.
I used this layout for the Arpil challenge at Once Upon a Sketch. I rotated the sketch because i wanted the #12 right at the top left hand corner.
The journaling requirement for this challenge was to write about The Best Day of your life.
Well I interpreted as one of the best days of my life because I know that most people, including me, have more than just one best day!!
It was hard for me to choose just one best day but since my son had just turned 12 now I thought I would chose the day he was born as one of my best days.
My journaling says:
“12 years ago you made me a mother for the first time and that was one of the best days of my life”
I think I might just have to make some more layouts to commemorate my other “best days” : the day I met my husband, the day we got married, the day my daughter was born, the day I got a second chance at life, the day I met my best friend, etc, etc ,etc…
I gave the 13 Arts background paper a light wash with some Pearl Orange and Pearl brown Spray. I mixed the ink with water on my mat and then using a wipe, I spread it across the page. I really wanted to match the background to the
embellishments.
Then I spread some 13 Arts gesso with a credit card in the background behind the photo and behind the number 12. I sprayed them with both 13 Arts Pearl Orange and Pearl Brown again to match the page.
I used some different sized numbers around the photo. I covered them with 13 Arts Gesso and then sprayed them with 13 Arts Pearl Orange and Pearl brown again.
Finally I used lots of embellishments to decorate around the photo including these beautiful 13 Arts Flowers.
