Happy Times- GD for CSI #84 with 2 Crafty

The 2 Crafty team is guest designing for CSI this month Come visit the CSI site every friday this month to see some inspiration from the 2 Crafty DT
We recently went to fly kites downtown by the lake. It was a gorgeous day and of course the kids enjoyed running down the beach with their kite. This is one of the pictures I took. There’s more of them coming in the next few weeks as I’ve really enjoyed scrapping them. I used the title “Happy Times” because that’s what they were. The title Happy is part of the 2 Crafty Birthday Sentiments set.
How I solved the case:
I used the Pink Paislee Hope Chest collection for this layout as it fit perfectly with the CSI#84 Palette and used the sketch as inspiration.
For the evidence I used twine to make the string of the kite and I used the fob watch from 2 Crafty.
For the testimony I journaled in cut-up strips.

I couldn’t create this layout without thinking of the Mary Poppins song “Let’s go fly a kite.” I kept on singing it in my head over and over again, so I knew I had to include the lyrics on the layout. I wrote down the chorus from the song and then cut down the strips to include as journaling for the testimony.
“Lets go fly a kite, up to the highest height. Lets go fly a kit and send it soaring…”

I bet you its stuck in your head now too, lol.
I really wanted to glue a string on the paper to make it seem as if the kite was flying off the page. This picture of my son had the perfect angle to do this.
I used two other 2 Crafty chipboard pieces: the Chevrons which I stamped in green ink using a honeycomb stamp and the Swirly Leaf flourish which I embossed and then inked.
Papers: Hope Chest by Pink Paislee
Chipboard: 2 crafty
Flowers: Prima, Recollections, Dollar Store
Finnabair honeycomb stamp by Prima
Ingvild Bolme green fluid chalk ink
Shimmerz: rock a fella spray
black pen
mesh: creative bags
Crystals: Prima
cocoa ink
twine: WR Memory Keepers
embossing folder: provo craft

My spouse and i felt so satisfied Edward could conclude his investigations by way of the ideas he made through the site. It’s not at all simplistic to just possibly be giving away tactics which often other people have been trying to sell. We realize we need the blog owner to appreciate for that. Most of the illustrations you have made, the straightforward web site navigation, the relationships you will help to engender – it’s everything unbelievable, and it’s really letting our son in addition to us imagine that that topic is fun, which is rather serious. Thanks for everything!
