After coming back yesterday from a great Technique class taught by Isabelle Norris, I designed this layout of my son. I used these beautiful papers by Kaisercraft called Chapter One. I just love the combination of these colours. The black, white and aqua go so well together and give the layout such an amazing look. During the class we made this beautiful transparent bird cage. We stamped the image on a piece of acetate cut out form a scrapbooking package. We use Staz-On to stamp the image on the plastic. Then we used alcohol inks in the back to give it some colour.
I like learning new ways of experimenting with my products. A few months ago I bought Crackle Paint by Viva Decor in many different colours. I’ve been using them on chipboard, grunge paper and even on cardstock. They give an amazing thick crackle effect. I’ve even inked over them with distressed dyes. However what I didn’t know, and I learned in this class is that you could use alcohol inks on the crackle to accent the colour. I decided to experiment on some Dusty Attic chipboard and I’ve attached a tutorial on how to make these beautiful crackled vines. (see below).
I used the title “In your eyes” which is a song by Peter Gabriel. I’m using this layout for a challenge at the Scrap That blog challenge hosted by Shona Keen. You have to use a song in the title or journaling. I also used the Kaisercraft Saturday challenge sketch as an inspiration for this layout. I just love, love, love these Kaisercraft papers. Have I said it enough?
Please enjoy the close-up pictures too where you can see this layout’s details.
